Short stay

A short stay is anything from one night up to fourteen. It suits a first visit to the area, a work trip, or a trial run before committing to a longer stay in the house.

Short stays are requested rather than instantly booked. You send the dates, room and any extras; the owner reviews the request; you pay once it is approved.

How a short stay runs

Choose your dates and see which rooms are genuinely free for the whole window.
Pick a room and, if you want them, optional extras. You can continue without any.
Give the guest details and accept the house rules and the policy documents.
Complete identity verification — required for every stay, however short.
Review the itemised quote and pay. The amount you approve is the amount charged.

What you pay

A short-stay quote is built from the nightly rate for the room, the number of nights, the one-off cleaning fee taken from the owner-managed catalogue, any extras you chose, and consumption tax calculated line by line.

The quote separates accommodation and fees from optional extras, so the cost of simply staying is never hidden inside a list of upgrades.

Payment is handled by PayPal, Square or Stripe. Card details are entered on the provider's page and are never stored by We LIVE WORLD.

Arrival and departure

Check-in and check-out times, key handover and the address of the house are confirmed in writing after your stay is approved, together with the arrival instructions for the day itself.

The house is in Japan and runs on Japan Standard Time. Tell us your flight or train arrival window if it is late in the evening so we can arrange the handover properly.

If your stay is longer than fourteen nights

Anything above fourteen nights goes through the extended-stay route instead. That is not a marketing distinction: a longer stay involves a different agreement, a deposit and a different billing rhythm, and we would rather set that up correctly than stretch a short booking.

Changes and cancellations

Ask us as early as you can. Changes to dates depend on whether the room is free, and cancellations follow the published cancellation policy, which is linked from every page of this site.
